Project Manager

Duration:  Two year fixed term contract (option to extend by one year)

About the Role

As a Project Manager, you will support the delivery of a varied and high-impact portfolio of projects across Norwood .

You will lead projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.  Your work will span property developments, digital systems and service transformation.

This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with colleagues, external partners and people with lived experience to ensure projects are practical, inclusive and aligned to organisational priorities.

You will:

  • Lead and/or support the delivery of multiple projects across capital, digital and change programmes
  • Develop project plans, manage risks and track progress against milestones
  • Support business cases, proposals and project governance processes
  • Ensure projects meet regulatory, safety and quality standards
  • Work collaboratively across teams to deliver meaningful, lasting outcomes

Your Day to Day

You will:

  • Manage day-to-day delivery of allocated projects, ensuring scope, timelines and budgets are met
  • Coordinate internal teams, external consultants and contractors
  • Support capital projects including new builds, refurbishments and adaptations
  • Work with IT and suppliers to support digital transformation initiatives
  • Facilitate workshops, consultations and change activities across services
  • Monitor risks and performance, escalating issues where needed
  • Prepare reports, presentations and updates for senior stakeholders
  • Ensure strong governance, documentation and compliance across all projects

You will work across a broad range of stakeholders, ensuring projects reflect the needs of the people we support and deliver real operational impact.

Qualifications, Experience & Training

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering projects across one or more of the following: capital, digital or organisational change
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong project planning, risk management and organisational skills
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
  • Ability to produce clear reports, presentations and project documentation
  • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of governance, compliance and budget management

Desirable

  • Project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or Agile (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience within social care, housing, public sector or not-for-profit organisations
  • Experience of working on construction or property projects and organisational change
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements or supported living environments
  • Understanding of digital systems or assistive technologies in care settings

A bit more information:  Norwood’s Broadway House, located at 80 - 82 The Broadway, Stanmore HA7 4HB, is the charity’s head office and main administrative base.

It brings together Governance, Leadership, Fundraising, Finance, People and Culture, and Marketing and Communications, providing coordination and support to Children & Family Services and Adult Services.

The office supports Norwood’s mission to help people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, their families, and children in need across London and the South East.  It is also the main point of contact for referrals, general enquiries, and charity business.
