We're recruiting for Norwood's Children and Young People Summer Scheme
About the Role
You will support children and young people attending our summer holiday activity schemes, helping them take part in fun, inclusive and enriching experiences.
Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will ensure every child feels safe, valued and included throughout the day.
No two days are the same. One day could mean arts and crafts, outdoor games and group activities. Another could mean providing reassurance, practical support and helping a child achieve something new.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting children and young people with disabilities during holiday schemes
- Helping deliver enjoyable and inclusive activities
- Promoting confidence, independence and social interaction
- Supporting with meals, drinks and toileting where required
- Ensuring health, safety and wellbeing at all times
- Working closely with families and the wider team
- Helping set up and tidy activity spaces
- Sharing important updates with scheme leaders and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
You may already have experience in childcare, education, youth work, care or support work. Equally, if you bring the right values and attitude, we want to hear from you.
You will bring:
- Warmth, patience and kindness
- Strong teamwork skills
- Confidence working with children and young people
- A calm and reliable approach
- Willingness to learn and follow safeguarding procedures
- Genuine passion for helping children and young people thrive
- Experience supporting children with disabilities would be a strong advantage.
