A bit more information:  Tikvah and Woodpeckers are two bungalows sitting semi-adjacently on the Ravenswood Estate, supporting seven adults aged 30s to 60s with moderate to severe neurodevelopmental disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and additional needs such as epilepsy and cerebral palsy.

Both houses are homely and relaxed, with shared, quiet communal spaces, including large lounges, gardens, and a conservatory. Every resident individual has their own personalised room, and activities are tailored to personal need and preference.

Our Supported People use a range of communication methods including verbal communication, PECS, gestures, body language, and objects of reference. Daily routines are structured yet flexible, factoring in dynamic changing need, physical activity, and social connections.

Shifts are typically a 13hr day with and hours unpaid break three times per week based upon a ‘person centred rolling rota,’ factoring in weekend and Bank Holiday support, with 24-hour staffing in place. Our roster is built around the needs, interests, routines, and the choices of the people we exist to Support. You’ll be joining a stable, supportive and able team underpinned by the Norwood’s values: Kindness, Respect, Belonging, and Empowerment.

Safe Recruitment:  Norwood is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children, young people, and adults we support.  This role is subject to safer recruitment checks in line with CQC Regulation 19, and appointment is conditional upon satisfactory pre-employment checks, including Right to Work in the UK and a DBS check appropriate to the role.
